Kent Hrbek was born on May 21, 1960, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a young boy, Hrbek loved playing baseball and was a standout player on his high school team. Hrbek made his major league debut in 1981, and quickly established himself as a power hitter and a strong defensive player. He played his entire 14-year career with the Minnesota Twins, making two All-Star teams, winning two World Series championships, and becoming a fan favorite in his hometown of Minneapolis.

Hrbek retired from baseball in 1994, finishing his career with a .282 batting average, 293 home runs, and 1,086 RBIs. He was known for his toughness, his leadership, and his clutch performances in big moments.
