Larry Walker Autographs
Larry Walker is a former Canadian professional baseball player, born on December 1, 1966 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada. He is often regarded as one of the greatest baseball players to come out of Canada. Walker's career in baseball started in the minor leagues, where he played for several teams before making his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut for the Montreal Expos in 1989.
Walker's baseball career spanned over 17 seasons, during which he played for four different teams, including the Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies, St. Louis Cardinals, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He was known for his strong defensive skills, powerful arm, and excellent speed on the basepath. Walker was also an outstanding hitter, with a career batting average of .313, 383 home runs, and 1,311 runs batted in (RBI).
In 1997, while playing for the Colorado Rockies, Walker had one of the best seasons in MLB history, winning the National League (NL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. He hit .366 with 49 home runs and 130 RBI, leading the Rockies to their first-ever playoff appearance. Walker was a five-time All-Star, seven-time Gold Glove Award winner, and three-time batting champion. In 2020, he was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, becoming just the second Canadian player to receive the honor.
