Mike Redmond Autographs
Mike Redmond is a retired American baseball catcher, born on May 5, 1971, in Seattle, Washington. He had a successful baseball career that spanned from 1998 to 2010, during which he played for three different teams, including the Florida Marlins, Minnesota Twins, and Cleveland Indians. Redmond was known for his excellent defensive skills behind the plate, as he caught nearly 36 percent of the runners who attempted to steal a base against him.
Redmond began his professional baseball career at age 25, as an undrafted free agent for the Florida Marlins. He played a significant role in helping the Marlins win their second World Series championship in 2003, as he batted .375 in the series against the New York Yankees. After spending seven seasons with the Marlins, Redmond signed with the Minnesota Twins in 2005, where he played for five seasons. While with the Twins, he served as a backup catcher and a player-coach, mentoring the team's younger players. Redmond finished his baseball career with the Cleveland Indians, where he played for one season.
After retiring from baseball, Redmond transitioned to coaching. He served as the manager of the Miami Marlins for two seasons, from 2013 to 2015. Though his managerial record was not impressive, Redmond remained highly respected in baseball circles, known for his leadership, work ethic, and knowledge of the game.
