He had a successful baseball career that spanned from 1998 to 2010, during which he played for three different teams, including the Florida Marlins, Minnesota Twins, and Cleveland Indians. Redmond began his professional baseball career at age 25, as an undrafted free agent for the Florida Marlins. He played a significant role in helping the Marlins win their second World Series championship in 2003, as he batted .375 in the series against the New York Yankees. After spending seven seasons with the Marlins, Redmond signed with the Minnesota Twins in 2005, where he played for five seasons. While with the Twins, he served as a backup catcher and a player-coach, mentoring the team's younger players.
