Pedro Beato was born on October 27, 1986, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He attended Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, New York, where he played on the school's baseball team. Beato was drafted by the New York Mets in the first round of the 2006 MLB draft as the 32nd overall pick. He spent six seasons with the Mets organization, working his way up the minor leagues before making his major league debut on April 1, 2011, against the Florida Marlins. More about Pedro Beato
