Phil Garner is a former Major League Baseball player and manager who played for 16 seasons, spending time with the Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics, Pittsburgh Pirates, and San Francisco Giants. Garner made his debut in 1973 with the Oakland Athletics as a second baseman, where he played the first half of his career. He later transitioned to third base, where he had a career-high average of .296 with the Houston Astros in 1980.
