Rogers Hornsby was a prominent baseball player who played as a second baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1915 to 1937. He was born on April 27, 1896, in Texas, and was known as the "Rajah" for his exceptional batting skills. Hornsby began his professional career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1915, and he was an instant success. He was a two-time MVP with the Cardinals, leading the league in batting average, home runs, and RBIs in multiple seasons. Hornsby also helped the Cardinals win their first World Series championship in 1926. He was traded to the New York Giants in 1927, and he had a remarkable season, leading the National League with a .361 batting average.
