Ron Roenicke is a former Major League Baseball player and manager. He was born on August 19, 1956, in Covina, California, and attended Mt. San Antonio College before transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After college, Roenicke was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the 1977 MLB draft. Roenicke played in the major leagues for eight seasons as an outfielder, spending time with the Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. Over the course of his career, he hit .238 with 17 home runs and 113 RBIs. After retiring from playing in 1988, Roenicke began a career in coaching and managing.

Roenicke served as a coach for several MLB teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Anaheim Angels, and Boston Red Sox. He also had a brief stint as a minor league manager before being named the manager of the Milwaukee Brewers in 2011. In his first season as manager, Roenicke led the Brewers to the National League Central division title and was named the NL Manager of the Year.
