In 2012, Cedeno played with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played his best season with the Pirates as he had a career-high batting average of .287 with a .741 OPS. Cedeno played in 97 games with the Pirates, hitting 4 home runs and 22 RBI. He would later play with the Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, Houston Astros, and San Diego Padres. During his career, Cedeno batted .246 with 40 home runs, 282 RBI, and 337 runs scored. He was regarded as a reliable defensive player and played multiple positions, including shortstop, second base, and third base, during his career.
