Steve Blass is a former American professional baseball pitcher who played his entire career in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Blass was born on April 18, 1942, in Canaan, Connecticut, and attended New Fairfield High School before signing with the Pirates in 1960. His professional baseball career began in 1964 when he made his debut for the Pirates.
