Tom Gordon, nicknamed "Flash", is a former American professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for 21 seasons. He was born on November 18, 1967 in Sebring, Florida. Gordon was a star athlete in high school, excelling in both baseball and football. However, he ultimately decided to focus on baseball and was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1986. Gordon made his Major League debut for the Royals in 1988 at the age of 20. He quickly established himself as a top-tier pitcher, earning recognition as an All-Star and the American League Rolaids Relief Man of the Year in 1998.
