Tony Pena is a former Major League Baseball player and current coach who was born on June 4, 1957, in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic. He began his professional baseball career as a catcher with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1980, where he spent six seasons. Pena played for several other teams during his career, including the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox, and Cleveland Indians. He was a three-time All-Star and won the 1992 American League Championship Series MVP award for the Indians.
