Bernard King is one of the most highly regarded basketball players in the history of the National Basketball Association. Born on December 4, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, he attended the University of Tennessee and went on to have a highly successful professional career. King began his professional basketball career with the Nets but quickly established himself as a formidable force in the league when he joined the New York Knicks in 1982. During his time with the Knicks, King became one of the most dominant offensive players in the NBA, averaging a stunning 26.5 points per game in the 1984-1985 season. That year, he led the league in scoring and was named to the All-NBA First Team.
