John Starks is a retired American professional basketball player who gained fame for his impressive shooting skills, tenacious defense, and fearless play on the court. Born on August 10, 1965, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Starks attended high school in his hometown before joining Northern Oklahoma Junior College. His outstanding performance earned him a scholarship to Oklahoma State University, where he became a standout player. Starks played for several other teams towards the end of his career, including the Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz, and the Charlotte Hornets. In total, he played in the NBA for 13 seasons, averaging 12.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Starks retired in 2002 and now runs the John Starks Foundation, which works to improve the lives of underprivileged children and families in New York City.
