Robertson started his basketball career playing for the University of Cincinnati, where he became the two-time national player of the year and led his team to two Final Fours. In 1960, he was the first player in NCAA history to average a triple-double for a season, with 32.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 11.4 assists per game. After being drafted by the Cincinnati Royals in 1960, Robertson continued his dominating performances in the NBA, earning the Rookie of the Year award in his first season. In 1961-62, he became the first NBA player to average a triple-double for a season, with 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 11.4 assists per game, a feat that had not been repeated until Russell Westbrook achieved it in 2017.

In 1971, Robertson joined the Milwaukee Bucks, where he teamed up with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and won his first and only NBA championship that season. He retired in 1974 with 26,710 career points, ranking him 12th on the NBA all-time scoring list at the time. Robertson's contributions to the game of basketball and his impact on the sport's history cannot be overstated. He was not only a phenomenal player but also an advocate for players' rights and became the first NBA player to file an antitrust lawsuit against the league, which led to the abolition of the college draft and free agency. Robertson remains a legend in basketball history, and his legacy lives on in the record books and the hearts of basketball fans everywhere. Read even more about Oscar Robertson at Wikipedia
