Sanders was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, he finished with 88 tackles, two interceptions, and one sack. Sanders quickly developed a reputation as a hard-hitting safety and was known for his fearless playing style. He was a two-time Pro Bowler, earning the honor in 2005 and 2007.

Sanders played seven seasons with the Colts before he signed with the San Diego Chargers in 2011. However, injuries plagued his career, and he only played in nine games in his two seasons with the Chargers. Sanders retired from the NFL in August 2013. Despite his short career, Sanders was one of the most dominant safeties in the game, and he was a key player in the Colts' Super Bowl XLI win. His impact on the game was also evident as he was inducted into the Iowa Hawkeyes' Hall of Fame in 2017. Read even more about Bob Sanders at Wikipedia
