Cameron Heyward is an American football defensive end who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on May 6, 1989, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended Ohio State University where he played for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. Heyward was one of the top college football players in the nation during his time at Ohio State and was considered a top prospect in the 2011 NFL draft.
Heyward's professional football career began when he was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft. He quickly established himself as a valuable asset to the team and became one of the most consistent and reliable players on their defense. Heyward has received numerous accolades during his career, including being named to the Pro Bowl and being named a First-Team All-Pro in 2017.
Heyward has also been recognized for his contributions off the field, including his work with the Heyward House Foundation. The foundation was established to support children who are hospitalized or facing other critical situations in Pittsburgh and Atlanta, where Heyward's father played football for the Atlanta Falcons.
