DeMeco Ryans, born on July 28, 1984, is a retired American football linebacker who played for 10 seasons in the NFL. He played college football at the University of Alabama and was later drafted in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. More about DeMeco Ryans

Off the field, Ryans was known as a leader and role model for his teammates. In 2013, he was named the Eagles' team captain, and he was also awarded the Ed Block Courage Award in 2014 for his dedication to the sport and his team. Following his retirement, Ryans went on to become a coach, serving as the assistant defensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, before moving on to become the team's inside linebackers coach in 2018.
