Dre Bly is a former American football cornerback who enjoyed a successful career in both college and the National Football League (NFL). Born on May 22, 1977, in Chesapeake, Virginia, Bly attended Western Branch High School where he excelled in American football. In 1996, he enrolled at the University of North Carolina and joined the Tar Heels football team. Bly had a remarkable career at North Carolina, finishing with 20 interceptions and being named first-team All-ACC twice. Bly's NFL career started brightly, as he was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1999. He was part of the Rams team that won the Super Bowl that year, beating the Tennessee Titans 23-16. Bly played for the Rams for four years before joining the Detroit Lions in 2003. He played six seasons for the Lions, becoming one of the team's best players during his time there. Bly then had a brief stint with the Denver Broncos before retiring from professional football in 2010.
