Frank Gifford Autograph

Frank Gifford was an American football player who is best known for his successful career as a halfback, wide receiver, and defensive back for the New York Giants. Gifford was born on August 16, 1930, in Santa Monica, California. He attended the University of Southern California (USC) where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Gifford was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round of the 1952 NFL Draft. He quickly became one of the most versatile players in the league. Gifford played halfback, wide receiver, and defensive back throughout his career. He helped lead the Giants to five NFL Championship games, winning one in 1956. Gifford was named the NFL Most Valuable Player in 1956 and was a six-time Pro Bowler during his career.

Gifford retired from football in 1964, but he remained involved in the sport as a broadcaster for ABC's Monday Night Football from 1971 to 1998. He also appeared on several other sports programs and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977. Gifford passed away on August 9, 2015, at the age of 84. He is remembered as one of the greatest football players of his generation and a trailblazer who helped popularize the sport through television broadcasting.
