Gus Frerotte Autographs
Gus Frerotte is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons. Frerotte was born on July 31, 1971, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, and attended Ford City High School. He then played college football at the University of Tulsa, where he was a standout player, setting school records for passing yards and touchdowns.
Frerotte was drafted in the seventh round of the 1994 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins. He played for the Redskins from 1994 to 1998 and had his best season in 1996 when he threw for 3,453 yards and 12 touchdowns. After leaving the Redskins, he played for several other NFL teams, including the Detroit Lions, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, and Denver Broncos. Frerotte had his best years with the Vikings, where he started 11 games in 2003 and threw for 3,233 yards and 25 touchdowns, leading the team to a 9-7 record.
Throughout his career, Frerotte was known for his strong arm, mobility, and his ability to make quick decisions on the field. He retired from the NFL after the 2008 season, having played in 147 games and throwing for 114 touchdowns and over 20,000 yards. Frerotte later went on to coach high school football in Maryland and currently works as an analyst for the Detroit Lions radio broadcasts.
