Jim Tressel is widely regarded as one of the most successful coaches in the history of American college football. Born on December 5, 1952, in Mentor, Ohio, Tressel grew up in an athletic family with a father who coached high school football. His own career as a player was spent at Baldwin Wallace University, where he was a quarterback and wide receiver. After graduating in 1975, Tressel stayed on at Baldwin Wallace as an assistant coach before moving to Miami University and later Syracuse. More about Jim Tressel

Following his departure from Ohio State, Tressel moved on to a variety of coaching roles, including a stint as the head coach at Youngstown State University. He was also a finalist for the presidency of Youngstown State before taking on a role as the president of Youngstown State University in 2014. Tressel continues to be remembered as one of the most successful coaches in the history of college football, with an undeniable legacy that still inspires and motivates players and coaches around the country to this day.
