Johnny Knox was a talented American football player born on November 3, 1986, in Houston, Texas. Knox's passion for football began in high school and continued throughout his college career at Abilene Christian University, where he earned two All-Lone Star Conference honors. Knox quickly emerged as one of the most explosive wide receivers in the league, with his speed and agility making him a nightmare for opposing defenses. He was named to the All-Rookie team in 2009 and had a standout season in 2010, where he recorded over 1,000 receiving yards and led the NFL in average yards per reception. In December 2011, Knox suffered a devastating spinal injury, which ended his football career.
