After an exceptional college career, Kuechly was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He made an immediate impact in the NFL, earning the Rookie of the Year honors and leading the league in tackles in his debut season. Kuechly was a model of consistency and excellence throughout his career, earning seven Pro Bowl selections, five First-Team All-Pro nods, and was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2013. He helped the Panthers reach the Super Bowl in 2015, where they lost to the Denver Broncos, and finished his career with 1,092 tackles, 18 interceptions, and 12.5 sacks in eight seasons with the Panthers.

Kuechly's NFL career was unfortunately cut short due to mounting injuries and concerns over his long-term health. He surprised the football world by announcing his retirement in January 2020, at the age of 28. Kuechly was one of the best linebackers of his generation and will be remembered for his intelligence, leadership, and all-around excellence on the field. Despite his relatively short career, Kuechly cemented his legacy as one of the all-time greats in the NFL and will undoubtedly be a future Hall of Famer.
