Matt McGloin Autographs
Matt McGloin is a former American football quarterback who played for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2009 to 2012. He was born on December 2, 1989, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and attended West Scranton High School, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Despite his success on the field and impressive numbers as a high school quarterback, he was not highly recruited and accepted a preferred walk-on offer from Penn State.
During his time at Penn State, McGloin went on to break numerous school and Big Ten Conference records while leading the team to a number of victories. He played in 43 games, starting in 31 of them, and threw for a total of 6,390 yards, 46 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions. In 2012, he was named the Big Ten's Griese-Brees Quarterback of the Year and was also awarded the Burlsworth Trophy, given annually to the most outstanding college football player who began his career as a walk-on.
After going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft, McGloin signed as a free agent with the Oakland Raiders. He remained with the team until 2016, where he served as the backup quarterback behind Derek Carr. During his time with the Raiders, he appeared in 13 games, starting in seven of them, and threw for a total of 1,868 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. In 2017, he briefly played for the Philadelphia Eagles before being released and eventually retiring from football in 2019.
