Tyrone Wheatley is a former football player and coach born on January 19, 1972, in Inkster, Michigan. He attended Robichaud High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. After graduating in 1990, Wheatley joined the University of Michigan, where he played as a running back for four years. In 1995, Wheatley was drafted in the first round (17th overall) by the New York Giants. He spent five seasons with the team before being traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2000. Wheatley played one year in Miami before signing with the Oakland Raiders in 2001, where he had the best years of his career. He was a key player in the Raiders' run to the Super Bowl in 2002, rushing for 276 yards and two touchdowns in the playoffs.
