Vince Dooley Autographs
Vince Dooley, born in Mobile, Alabama in 1932, became one of college football's most successful coaches during his tenure at the University of Georgia. After playing and coaching at Auburn University, Dooley was hired as Georgia's head football coach in 1963 at the age of 31.
During his 25-year career as Georgia's head coach from 1964 to 1988, Dooley compiled an impressive record of 201-77-10. He led the Bulldogs to six Southeastern Conference (SEC) championships and the 1980 national title. Under his guidance, Georgia appeared in 20 bowl games, including victories in the Sugar Bowl, Cotton Bowl, and Gator Bowl.
Dooley's accomplishments earned him numerous accolades, including four SEC Coach of the Year awards and the distinction of being only the ninth coach in NCAA Division I history to win over 200 games. He coached several notable players, including Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1994. Dooley also served as Georgia's athletic director from 1979 to 2004, further cementing his legacy at the university.
