Vontae Davis Autographs
Vontae Davis is a former American football cornerback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons. He was born on May 27, 1988, in Washington D.C., and grew up in a family of football players. His elder brother, Vernon Davis, is a former NFL tight end who played for the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos. Vontae played college football at the University of Illinois, where he was a standout player and earned numerous accolades, including First-team All-Big Ten honors in 2007 and 2008.
After an impressive college career, Vontae Davis was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played for the Dolphins for three seasons before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2012. During his six seasons with the Colts, Davis established himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the league and earned two Pro Bowl selections in 2014 and 2015. He was known for his exceptional coverage skills and physicality, and he recorded 395 tackles, 97 passes defensed, and 22 interceptions during his NFL career.
In September 2018, Vontae Davis made a shocking decision to retire from the NFL at halftime of the Buffalo Bills' game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He issued a statement explaining that he did not feel like he was playing at the level he had established throughout his career and that he realized he no longer had the passion to continue playing football. Although Davis' retirement was controversial, he remained respected by many of his former teammates and coaches for his work ethic and dedication to the sport.
