Antoine Bethea is a former American football safety. He was born on July 27, 1984, in Savannah, Georgia. Bethea played college football at Howard University, where he was a standout in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2006 NFL draft with the 207th overall pick in the sixth round.
Antoine Bethea spent eight of his 14-season career with the Indianapolis Colts. He was a strong safety, and his consistency in tackling and pass coverage made him a fan favorite. In his rookie season, Bethea was a reserve player but still managed to start six games, recording 82 total tackles. In 2007, he started all 16 games, with a total of 124 tackles. His performances were key in helping the Colts win the Super Bowl that year.
Over the course of his career, Antoine Bethea played for four different teams, including the Colts, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, and New York Giants. He made three Pro Bowl appearances and was named All-Pro twice. Despite numerous injuries and setbacks throughout his career, Bethea remained a consistent force on the field until his retirement in 2020. BEThea ended his career with 1,356 total tackles, 9.0 sacks, 25 interceptions, and 78 pass deflections.
