Wilbert Montgomery Autographs
Wilbert Montgomery was a professional American football player who was born on September 16, 1954, in Greenville, Mississippi. He graduated from Abilene Christian University and was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 1977 NFL Draft. Montgomery played primarily as a running back and quickly established himself as one of the best players in the league.
Montgomery played for the Eagles from 1977 to 1984, and he was a key part of the team's offense. He helped lead Philadelphia to the Super Bowl following the 1980 season, where they were defeated by the Oakland Raiders. Montgomery rushed for over 1,000 yards in three different seasons, and he was a Pro Bowl selection twice. After leaving Philadelphia, Montgomery spent two seasons with the Detroit Lions before retiring from the NFL in 1987.
In addition to his impressive NFL career, Montgomery has also been recognized for his contributions to the sport of American football. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996, and he was named to the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame in 1987. Montgomery's legacy as one of the greatest running backs in NFL history continues to inspire and motivate young athletes today.
