Ben Curtis Autographs
Ben Curtis was born on the 26th of May, 1977, in Ostrander, Ohio. He played collegiate golf at Kent State University and was part of the golf team from 1998 to 2000. After graduating in 2000, he turned professional and joined the Hooters Tour. Curtis then became a member of the Nationwide Tour in 2001, where he won the 2002 New Zealand PGA Championship. He earned his PGA Tour card in 2003 and won his first PGA Tour event the same year at the Bell Canadian Open, becoming the first player since Francis Ouimet in 1913 to win a major tournament in his first attempt.
Curtis continued to have a successful career in golf, winning three more tournaments on the PGA Tour, including the 2006 84 Lumber Classic and the 2012 Valero Texas Open. He also played on the US team during the 2004 Ryder Cup and the 2006 World Cup. Curtis, who was nicknamed the “Open Championship specialist,” also enjoyed success on the European Tour, winning the 2006 Dutch Open and the 2012 Open de France. Additionally, he was inducted into Kent State University's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.
Off the golf course, Curtis has been involved in philanthropy work, including founding the Ben Curtis Family Foundation in 2013, which aims to provide scholarships to underprivileged students in Kent and Portage counties. He has also been an active participant in the First Tee program, which introduces young people to the values and life skills associated with golf. Overall, Ben Curtis has had a successful and impactful career in the world of golf, making his mark not only on the course but also in his community.
