Al MacInnis is a former professional ice hockey player who spent 23 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on July 11, 1963, in Inverness, Nova Scotia, Canada. MacInnis began his career in hockey in the early 1980s when he was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the first round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. During his 13-year stint with the Calgary Flames, MacInnis won the Stanley Cup in 1989 and was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as the most valuable player (MVP) of the playoffs. In 1994, he was traded to the St. Louis Blues, where he played for another 10 years.
