Boyle then continued his career as a center for Boston College, where he was a key player for the team and helped them win the NCAA championship in 2006.
Boyle made his professional debut with the Los Angeles Kings in 2007 after being drafted by them in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft. He has also become admired for his courage and perseverance, as he was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in 2017 and returned to the ice after undergoing treatment.
