Brian Propp is a retired Canadian professional hockey player, born on February 15th, 1959 in Lanigan, Saskatchewan. He started playing hockey at a young age and made his professional debut in the 1979-1980 season with the Philadelphia Flyers. He spent the majority of his career with the Flyers, playing 11 seasons, from 1979 to 1990. Propp was known for his speed and skill, as well as his remarkable consistency on the ice. During his 15-year NHL career, Brian Propp played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, Minnesota North Stars, and the Hartford Whalers. In total, he scored 425 goals and added 594 assists for an impressive total of 1,019 points. He was a four-time NHL All-Star and led the Flyers to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1980, 1985, and 1987. Propp was also a part of the Canadian National Hockey team, winning a silver medal in the 1984 Winter Olympics held in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia.

Propp's stellar career came to a halt in 1992 after he suffered a broken vertebrae in his back during an exhibition game. He attempted a comeback in 1995 but was forced to retire due to recurring back problems. Post-retirement, he worked as a coach and an analyst for ESPN and NBC Sports. In 1999, he was inducted into the Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Fame, and 2015 was inducted into the Saskatchewan Hall of Fame.
