Jonas Hiller Autographs
Jonas Hiller is a retired Swiss professional ice hockey goaltender who played for various teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Swiss NLA. Hiller was born on February 12, 1982, in Felben-Wellhausen, Switzerland. After playing for his hometown club of EHC Biel in Swiss leagues, Hiller moved to North America to start his NHL career.
Hiller signed with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (now Anaheim Ducks) in 2007 as a free agent, after an impressive performance at the 2007 IIHF World Championships as Switzerland's goalie. He made his NHL debut in the 2007-08 season, serving as a backup goalie but eventually became a starter after two seasons. Hiller's superb performance in the 2009-10 season helped the Ducks into the playoffs as the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Hiller earned his first NHL playoff shutout against the San Jose Sharks in the quarterfinals, becoming the first Ducks goalie to do so since Jean-Sebastien Giguere in 2006.
In 2014, Hiller signed a two-year contract with the Calgary Flames, where he played for the remainder of his NHL career. Hiller also played for the Swiss national team at various international tournaments, including the Winter Olympics Games, where he helped his country to win a silver medal in 2018. Hiller announced his retirement from professional ice hockey in 2018, after a successful career that spanned over a decade in the NHL and Swiss NLA. His record includes 197 wins, a .915 save percentage, and 26 shutouts from a total of 404 games played.
