Tomas Vokoun is a former Czech professional ice hockey goaltender. He was born on July 2, 1976, in Karlovy Vary, Czechoslovakia. Vokoun grew up playing hockey in the Czech Republic and was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1994. Vokoun spent much of his career with the Predators, establishing himself as one of the league's top goaltenders during his time in Nashville. He was named to the NHL All-Star team in both 2004 and 2008 and helped lead the Predators to their first-ever playoff appearance in 2004. Vokoun also played for the Florida Panthers, the Washington Capitals, and the Pittsburgh Penguins before retiring in 2013. Over the course of his NHL career, he recorded 300 wins, a .917 save percentage, and 51 shutouts.

Off the ice, Vokoun has been involved in charity work throughout his career, including his founding of the Tomas Vokoun Charity Fund in 2002. The fund, which has raised over $700,000, supports underprivileged children in his hometown of Karlovy Vary through donations to local schools and organizations.
