Ashley Force Autographs
Ashley Force Hood, born on November 29, 1982, is a former NHRA Funny Car drag racer and the daughter of 16-time NHRA Top Fuel Funny Car national champion John Force. She began her racing career in the Top Alcohol Dragster division, winning five races between 2004 and 2006, including the prestigious U.S. Nationals.
In 2007, Force Hood moved up to the professional ranks, driving a Castrol-sponsored Mustang Top Fuel Funny Car for her father's team, John Force Racing. She quickly made history by becoming the first woman to reach a national series TF/FC final round and was named the 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series' Rookie of the Year. Her breakthrough moment came on April 27, 2008, when she defeated her father in the final round of the NHRA Summit Southern Nationals, becoming the first woman to win an NHRA Funny Car national event.
Throughout her career, Force Hood accumulated four professional wins, including back-to-back U.S. Nationals victories, in 16 final round appearances. She finished second in the 2009 season points standings, the highest finish for a woman in Funny Car history. Force Hood retired from competitive racing in 2011 to start a family, but her impact on the sport remains significant as she paved the way for other female drivers in the Funny Car category.
