Jeff Green is a former NBA player, born on August 28, 1986, in Cheverly, Maryland. He attended Georgetown University, where he played basketball for the Hoyas. Green was a key player for the Georgetown team that reached the Final Four in 2007. He averaged 14.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game in his college career, and his consistent performances earned him the recognition of the Big East Conference Player of the Year in 2007.
Despite being diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm in 2011, Jeff Green returned to the court and continued his excellent career in the NBA. He began his professional career in the 2007 NBA draft when the Boston Celtics picked him with the fifth overall pick. Green played for the Celtics, and then for the Seattle SuperSonics, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Memphis Grizzlies. During his NBA career, he averaged 13 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
Jeff Green spent his last three NBA seasons playing for several teams, including Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards, and Utah Jazz. Throughout his productive career, Green proved to be a valuable asset to every team he played on, and his natural athletic ability and work ethic contributed greatly to his success. Following his 13-year career, he announced his retirement in August 2021, having solidified his legacy as a beloved and admirable basketball player.
