Andrew McCutchen is a retired American professional baseball outfielder who was born on October 10, 1986, in Fort Meade, Florida. He spent the majority of his 15 years of playing professional baseball in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, where he became one of the most recognizable faces in the game. Andrew began his baseball career at Fort Meade High School and then moved on to play college baseball for the University of Florida.
McCutchen was drafted in the first round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he played for nine seasons. During his time with the Pirates, Andrew became one of the most dominant players in the league, earning five All-Star selections and a National League MVP award in 2013. He was known for his powerful hitting and his exceptional fielding skills, making him one of the most complete players in the league. Andrew also excelled off the field, winning the Roberto Clemente Award for his charitable work in the community.
After spending nine seasons in Pittsburgh, Andrew was traded to the San Francisco Giants in January 2018. He spent a year with the Giants before being traded to the New York Yankees, where he finished his career in 2019. Throughout his career, Andrew amassed a number of impressive statistics, including 1,716 hits, 194 home runs, 183 stolen bases, and a career batting average of .278. His legacy in Major League Baseball will undoubtedly live on for years to come.
