Austin Romine Autographs

Austin RomineAustin Romine is a professional baseball player born on November 22, 1988 in Lake Forest, California. He grew up around baseball as his father Kevin Romine was a former Major League Baseball player. Austin attended high school in Southern California and was selected by the New York Yankees in the second round of the 2007 MLB draft. He made his professional debut the following year in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League.
Romine slowly worked his way up through the Yankees' minor league system, playing for various teams like the Staten Island Yankees, Charleston RiverDogs, and Trenton Thunder. He made his MLB debut on September 11, 2011, and played sporadically for the Yankees over the next few seasons. It was not until 2018, after veteran catcher Brian McCann's departure, that Romine became the team's primary backup catcher. In his first full season as a backup, he appeared in 77 games, batting .244/.295/.417 with 10 home runs and 42 RBI.
Throughout his career, Romine has been known for his defensive skills and ability to handle pitchers. He is also a versatile player, capable of playing multiple positions in the infield and outfield if needed. Romine has been a valuable asset to the Yankees, and he was nominated for the American League's Gold Glove Award for catchers in 2019. After his contract expired with the Yankees, Romine signed a deal with the Detroit Tigers for the 2020 season.
