Carlos Pena Autographs
Carlos Pena is a former American professional baseball player who was born on May 17, 1978, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He attended Northeastern University, where he played college baseball for four years. In 1998, he was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the first round of the MLB draft. He made his Major League debut in 2001 and played for eight different teams during his career.
Throughout his career, Pena was known as a power hitter, hitting 286 home runs over 14 seasons. He was also a great defensive player, winning the Gold Glove Award in 2008 as a first baseman. One of his best seasons came in 2007, when he hit 46 home runs and drove in 121 runs while playing for the Tampa Bay Rays. He helped lead the team to their first-ever World Series appearance that same year.
Pena retired from baseball in 2014 after playing his final season with the Texas Rangers. Off the field, he has worked as an analyst for MLB Network and as a studio analyst for Fox Sports. Pena has also been involved in several charitable organizations, including the United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign, which aims to prevent malaria in Africa. His successful baseball career, along with his philanthropic efforts and work in broadcasting, have made him a respected figure in the sports world.
