He was born on December 12, 1982, and raised in the Dominican Republic, where he grew up playing baseball. He was first signed by the Los Angeles Angels in 2000 as an amateur free agent and made his MLB debut in 2005.
Santana had a successful career as a starting pitcher and played for various MLB teams, including the Angels, the Kansas City Royals, the Minnesota Twins, and the Atlanta Braves. Throughout his career, he recorded impressive statistics, achieving a total of 149 wins, 1,926 strikeouts, and a 4.09 ERA (earned run average). He also pitched a no-hitter in 2011 while playing for the Angels against the Cleveland Indians.
