Gaby Sanchez is a former professional baseball player, born on September 2, 1983, in Miami, Florida. Sanchez attended Florida International University where he played college baseball for four years before being drafted by the Florida Marlins in 2005. Sanchez made his professional debut in 2008 and played his rookie year in 2010. He played with the Marlins for four seasons and also played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, and the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.
Throughout his professional baseball career, Gaby Sanchez played primarily as a first baseman. He had a batting average of .254 in his career with 61 home runs and 255 RBIs. Sanchez is remembered for his solid defense at first base and his ability to hit for doubles. He was also known for his work ethic and leadership qualities, serving as a mentor to younger players on his team. Despite not being an All-Star player, Sanchez was a respected and valued member of every team he played for.
After retiring from baseball, Gaby Sanchez went back to Florida International University to complete his degree in International Business. He is currently a baseball coach at the University of Miami, where he works with players on hitting and infield drills. Sanchez is also involved in a variety of charitable works in his community where he partners with organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, United Way, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
