Nova started his Major League Baseball debut in 2010 and played for the New York Yankees for six seasons. During his time with the Yankees, he led the team in wins with 16 in 2011 and 2012. In 2013, he had a 9-6 record with a 3.10 ERA in 139.1 innings pitched. Nova's career took a hit in 2014 when he was out for the entire season due to Tommy John Surgery. After his recovery, Nova was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016, where he continued to have a solid pitching career.

Throughout his ten-year career in the MLB (2010-2019), Ivan Nova played for the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago White Sox, and Detroit Tigers. He had an overall record of 89-76, a 4.32 ERA, and 680 strikeouts. Nova had an impressive record on the field and is remembered for being a reliable pitcher who consistently delivered good gameplay.
