Jim Hickman was an American professional baseball player born on May 10, 1937, in Henning, Tennessee. He played as an outfielder for several Major League Baseball (MLB) teams from 1962 to 1974, including the New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, and St. Louis Cardinals. Hickman had a solid career in the majors, playing in over 1,100 games and amassing more than 900 hits, 159 home runs, and 560 runs batted in (RBIs). Hickman's most successful season came in 1970 when he was playing for the Cubs. He batted .315 with 32 home runs, 115 RBIs, and 100 runs scored, earning him a spot on the National League All-Star team. Hickman finished eighth in the MVP voting that year, helping the Cubs to a second-place finish in the National League East division.
