Kelly Brian Shoppach is a former American professional baseball catcher. He was born on April 29, 1980, in Fort Worth, Texas. In high school, Shoppach played baseball for Brewer High School in Fort Worth. After graduating from high school, he attended Baylor University, where he played baseball for the Baylor Bears. Shoppach made his Major League Baseball debut on May 28, 2005, with the Boston Red Sox, where he played as a backup catcher. He played for Boston Red Sox for two years, from 2005-2006, before he got traded to the Cleveland Indians in 2006. During his time with the Indians, he became the team's regular catcher, and he was known for his great defense behind the plate. In 2008, he recorded a career-high of 21 home runs and 55 runs batted in (RBI). He played for the Cleveland Indians for four years, from 2006 to 2009, before he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010. He went on to play for the Rays, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Seattle Mariners before he retired in 2014.

Throughout his professional baseball career, Kelly Shoppach was known for his great defensive skills, especially his ability to throw out base runners. He won the American League Gold Glove Award for his excellent defense behind the plate in 2008. He played in 586 career games, hitting 70 home runs and 219 RBI with a .226 batting average.
