Kosuke Fukudome Autographs
Kosuke Fukudome was born on April 26, 1977, in Kagoshima, Japan. He began playing baseball at a young age and played for Waseda University, where he was eventually drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 1998 Nippon Professional Baseball draft. Fukudome quickly made a name for himself in Japan, earning multiple accolades including the Golden Glove Award and the Best Nine Award. In 2007, Fukudome signed with the Chicago Cubs, becoming one of the first Japanese position players to make his way to Major League Baseball.
Fukudome's time in the MLB proved to be successful, where he played for the Cubs, Cleveland Indians, and the Chicago White Sox. He was known for his versatility on the field, playing in multiple positions such as right field and center field. During his time with the Cubs, Fukudome had a memorable debut game, where he hit a home run in his first at-bat. Despite hitting a slump during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, he remained a reliable asset for the team, often making clutch plays in the outfield and earning a reputation for his strong arm.
