Marlon Byrd is a retired American professional baseball player. He was born on August 30, 1977, in Boynton Beach, Florida. Byrd started his baseball career in 1999, when he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 10th round of the Major League Baseball draft. Between 2002 and 2016, Marlon Byrd played for multiple teams in the Major League Baseball, including the Philadelphia Phillies, the Washington Nationals, the Texas Rangers, the Chicago Cubs, the Boston Red Sox, the New York Mets, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cleveland Indians. He played primarily as an outfielder and was known for his excellent defensive skills and power-hitting ability.

During his career, Byrd was named to the All-Star team in 2010 and 2013. He finished his career with a batting average of .275, 159 home runs, and over 700 runs batted in. Throughout his career, he remained a fan favorite and was highly respected by his teammates and opponents.
