He played as a starting pitcher for several Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, including the Minnesota Twins, Tampa Bay Rays, Chicago Cubs, and Milwaukee Brewers. Garza was an impressive athlete from an early age and excelled at baseball during his high school years. In 2005, Garza made his professional baseball debut with the Fort Myers Miracle, an affiliate team of the Minnesota Twins. After a few seasons in the minor leagues, he was called up to play for the Twins in 2007, and he delivered a promising performance in his first innings. In 2008, Garza joined the Tampa Bay Rays, where he became an essential part of their pitching rotation. During his time with the Rays, he helped the team reach the World Series in 2008 and earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the American League Championship Series. After spending a few years with the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers, Garza announced his retirement from professional baseball in 2019, in a career that spanned over a decade.

Throughout his baseball career, Matt Garza was known for his strong work ethic, fierce competitiveness, and ability to deliver in high-pressure situations.
