Olivo started playing baseball in his early days and soon made a name for himself in the Dominican Republic Baseball League. Olivo played for several Major League Baseball teams throughout his career, including the Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals, Colorado Rockies, Seattle Mariners, Miami Marlins, and Los Angeles Dodgers.
