Mike Aviles was born on March 13, 1981, in New York City. He had a passion for baseball since childhood and participated in various little leagues growing up. After graduating from Middletown High School in 1999, he enrolled at Concordia College in Bronxville, New York. During his college career, he played for the school's baseball team as a shortstop and was recognized for his outstanding performance. Aviles played in the minor leagues for several seasons before making his MLB debut with the Royals in 2008. In his first season, he batted .325, recorded four home runs, and scored 10 RBIs. He also received the Joe Burke Special Achievement Award for his impressive performance that year. His success continued in the following years, and in 2011, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox. While playing for the Red Sox, he hit a critical triple in Game 1 of the 2013 World Series, which contributed to the team's victory.

Over the years, Mike Aviles has played for several other teams, including the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers. In his career, he has played primarily as a shortstop but has also played as a third baseman and left fielder. He retired from professional baseball in 2018 with a career batting average of .261, 80 home runs, and 386 RBIs.
